Two individuals with missing data concerning QRS pattern at enrollment were excluded from today’s study. Thus, the ultimate research sample included the 1818 patients from MADIT-CRT for whom baseline ECG data were available. The primary end point of the current study was death from any cause. Secondary end factors included a non-fatal heart-failing event and the combined end stage of a non-fatal heart-failure event or loss of life, whichever occurred first. Statistical Analysis All analyses in the present study were completed on an intention-to-treat basis .
